Empowering Voices. Transforming Communities.
The Oltoilo Pastoralist Peoples Forum (OPPF) is a newly established non-profit organization rooted in the vision of an inclusive, empowered, and sustainable future for Kenya’s pastoralist communities.
Founded by indigenous voices and driven by local realities, OPPF was born out of the urgent need to confront social injustices that have long affected marginalized groups—especially women, children, persons with disabilities, and indigenous communities across Narok, Samburu, Laikipia, Kajiado, Isiolo, Embu, Nairobi, and Meru counties.
Our Story
OPPF was founded by a diverse group of women and men who have lived and witnessed the daily struggles within pastoralist communities. Too many voices remain unheard—girls denied education, women excluded from leadership, and communities grappling with climate change without support.
We decided it was time to act.
OPPF is not just an organization—it’s a movement for equity, dignity, and opportunity, grounded in local knowledge and powered by collective action.
Our geographic focus
Because the future of Kenya is not complete without its pastoralist people. By focusing on education, empowerment, and inclusion, we’re not only addressing today's challenges—we’re building generations of changemakers who will shape a better tomorrow.
Why OPPF Matters
We work across eight key counties in Kenya: Narok, Samburu, Laikipia, Kajiado, Isiolo, Embu, Nairobi, and Meru. Each region holds unique challenges and strengths, but the people are united by a shared need for justice, access, and voice.
OUR TEAM
We are a small but passionate team of individuals committed to uplifting pastoralist communities in Kenya. Most of us come from the very regions we serve, and we bring firsthand knowledge, local experience, and deep dedication to our work.
As OPPF grows, so will our team—but our mission will always remain the same: to empower, include, and transform.
